Technology Education

Making Technology Understandable

Technology has become deeply integrated into nearly every aspect of modern life. Yet for many people, technology still feels confusing, intimidating, or overly complex.

My goal as a technology educator is simple: to help people understand how technology works so they can use it with confidence.

For more than 18 years, I have worked in higher education supporting students, faculty, and staff as they navigate the constantly evolving world of digital tools, operating systems, and online platforms. Through training, support, and practical guidance, I help people move beyond frustration and develop the confidence to use technology effectively.

Teaching Practical Technology Skills

Technology education should not be about memorizing technical terminology. It should be about helping people solve real problems and build practical skills they can apply in their everyday lives.

Throughout my career, I have worked with a wide range of technologies including operating systems, assistive technology, digital tools, and cybersecurity practices. By focusing on practical use cases and clear explanations, I aim to make technology more accessible to people regardless of their technical background.

Whether someone is learning a new operating system, exploring assistive technology tools, or improving their digital security habits, the goal is always the same: clarity, confidence, and independence.

Writing as a Teaching Tool

In addition to hands-on training and support, I use writing as a way to share practical technology knowledge with a broader audience.

My books are designed to help people understand technology in a calm, approachable way.

Linux Mint for Everyday Use provides a step-by-step guide for users interested in exploring Linux as a powerful and privacy-friendly operating system.

Take Control of Your Digital Security focuses on helping everyday people develop simple habits that protect their personal information and reduce their risk of online scams and cyber threats.

Each book reflects the same teaching philosophy that guides my work: technology should be explained clearly, practically, and without unnecessary complexity.

Lifelong Learning

Technology changes quickly, and effective technology education requires continuous learning.

Over the past several years, I have completed more than 100 professional courses across a wide range of technical topics including operating systems, networking, cybersecurity, programming, and accessibility technologies.

This commitment to ongoing learning allows me to stay current with emerging technologies while continuing to provide meaningful guidance and support to others.

Looking Forward

Technology will continue to evolve, but the need for clear and practical education around technology will remain constant.

Through my writing, training, and online resources, I remain committed to helping people better understand the digital tools that shape our world and empowering them to use technology with confidence.
