Exploring Technology, and Accessibility.
Welcome, and thank you for visiting RonGLeblanc.com.
This website brings together many of the ideas and areas of interest that have shaped my work over the past several years. As someone who has spent more than 18 years working with technology in higher education, I have had the opportunity to help students, educators, and everyday users navigate the rapidly evolving digital world.
Technology touches nearly every aspect of our lives today. We rely on digital tools for communication, education, work, banking, and entertainment. Yet despite how deeply technology is integrated into our lives, many people still feel uncertain or overwhelmed when trying to understand how it works.
One of my goals with this website is to make technology feel more understandable and approachable.
Through this blog, I will be sharing thoughts, observations, and practical insights across several areas that I care deeply about: accessibility, technology education, and digital security.
Accessibility and Inclusive Technology
Accessibility has been a central part of my professional life for many years.
Assistive technology and inclusive design play a critical role in ensuring that digital tools and learning environments are usable by everyone. When technology is designed thoughtfully, it can remove barriers and create opportunities for people who might otherwise face significant challenges.
In future posts, I plan to explore topics related to digital accessibility, assistive technology, inclusive design, and the broader systems that shape how accessible our digital environments truly are.
Accessibility is not just about compliance or technical standards. It is about building systems that recognize the diversity of human ability and ensure that technology empowers rather than excludes.
Technology Education
Another area that continues to shape my work is technology education.
Many people interact with technology every day without ever having the opportunity to fully understand how it works. This can lead to frustration, confusion, or a lack of confidence when using digital tools.
One of the most rewarding parts of my work has been helping people develop confidence with technology by explaining concepts clearly and focusing on practical knowledge.
In this blog, I will share insights about learning technology, understanding operating systems, exploring open-source software, and developing a deeper understanding of the tools we rely on every day.
Looking Ahead
Technology will continue to evolve rapidly in the years ahead. New tools, platforms, and systems will shape how we communicate, learn, and work.
By sharing ideas through this blog, I hope to contribute to a broader conversation about how we can use technology thoughtfully, safely, and inclusively.
Whether you are a student, educator, technologist, or simply someone curious about the digital world, I hope you will find something here that helps you better understand the technology around you.
Thank you for visiting, and welcome.
